Museum Restaurant Issen

Issen serves Japanese cuisine in a tranquil, relaxed ambiance. The menu, focused on kaiseki cuisine, offers a variety of prix-fixe options with fresh seasonal seafood from the Inland Sea.

Hours Breakfast: 7:30-9:30 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (Last order: 2:00 p.m.)
Dinner: Part 1: 6:00-7:45 p.m. / Part 2: 8:00-9:45 p.m.
Dinner are by reservation only.
Children younger than elementary school age are not permitted at dinner.
Dinner time is limited due to the two-part system.

Breakfast: ¥2,000 (Japanese or Western style)
Lunch: From ¥1,800
Dinner: ¥6,000–Umi, ¥8,000–Akane, ¥11,000–Shiosai     all kaiseki
Please note that as of March 2012 the kaiseki dinner menu will be changed to choices of ¥6,000–Umi, ¥7,500–Ushio, ¥10,000–Seto.
Additionally, stews (nabemono) are offered in colder months.
For guests staying with children, boxed meals Sazanami (¥5,000, kiddie menu ¥3,000) are available to dine in guest room of Benesse House.
Menu items and Prices are subject to change without notice.
Cancellation of advance orders of menu items incurs a 50% charge on the same day.

Museum Café

After viewing artwork, relax at the cafe, which affords a beautiful view of the tranquil and picturesque Inland Sea. Visitors can also enjoy many books on art in the library across from the café.

Museum Shop

Adjacent to the café, this shop offers Naoshima exhibition brochures, books and photo essays on featured art and artists, and other merchandise. Souvenirs from Benesse Art Site Naoshima are also available.
