Art Tour of Benesse House Park

Focused on Hiroshi Sugimoto's Coffin of Light in the basement floor of the Park.

*Can only be reserved by guests at Benesse House. Available on Mondays as well.

Cultural Melting Bath: Project for Naoshima, Cai Guo-Qiang (1998)

Cultural Melting Bath invites visitors to take a dip and relax in the artwork itself, which is a hot tub (from the U.S.) with Taihu rocks (from China) arranged according to principles of Feng Shui. Five types of medicinal herbs are added to the water. For Benesse House guests only. (Artwork Requiring Reservations)

Rules
  • For Benesse House guests only.
  • Take a shower or bath in your room in advance.
  • Bathing suits are required. (A changing room is available.)
  • Bring your own bathing suit. Towels and slippers are available from Benesse House.
  • Do not sit in the hot tub if you: have high or low blood pressure, are drunk or intoxicated, are pregnant, or are not feeling well.
