The Naoshima Fukutake Art Museum Foundation is currently seeking support staff for future art projects. We encourage applications from persons who want to join in a project that aims to further increase the physical and emotional vitality of the local residents through the power of art as they encounter the birds and other natural phenomena and the history of the Inland Sea region.

Job Description

We are seeking customer service employees to provide information and guidance for guests and handle sales in our museums and art facilities, including not only the currently open Chichu Museum and Inujima Art Project, but also future planned new museums and art facilities. We are also seeking persons in the area of facilities management.

  1. Administrative operations
    Perform administrative operations for the art facilities owned by the Foundation. Carry out the role of familiarizing guests with the art works as receptionists, information desk attendants, guards, and tour guides.
  2. Sales operations
    Perform sales and customer service duties in the stores and cafés associated with each facility.
  3. Facilities management operations
    Maintain our facilities at their optimal level.

You will receive about one month of training at each facility.
Compensation
  1. Type of employment: Part-time contract

    Note: The contract will come up for renewal every 6 months, and after about 3 years, you may be registered as a contract employee, depending on your suitability and performance record.

  2. Work sites: Naoshima-cho, Kagawa-gun, Kagawa Prefecture ; Inujima, Higashi-ku, Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture; Teshima, Tonoshi-cho, Shozu-gun, Kagawa Prefecture
  3. Wages: ¥800 per hour
  4. Allowances: Commuting allowance, housing allowance, family allowance
  5. Working hours: 8 hours per day, about 170 hours per month (about 15 hours of overtime per month)
  6. Days off: 105 days per year (two days off per week)
  7. Social insurance: Health insurance, welfare pension and employment insurance available
  8. Miscellaneous: Dormitories available (rent is ¥12,000/month for a two-person room, ¥20,000/month for a single room).

    Note: The standard room is a two-person room, but rooms may not be available if a dormitory is full. In some cases, the department to which you are assigned will supply you with a uniform.

Qualifications

Age 20 or older with customer service experience. Those with conversational ability in English are especially welcome.
